A little preparation makes fitting day quicker, smoother and less stressful for everyone. Here’s what to expect and how to get ready.
In the days before
- Clear small items: ornaments, plants, lamps and anything breakable.
- Empty wardrobes and cabinets that need moving, including the bottom of built-in cupboards.
- Unplug electronics and tidy away cables from TVs and computers.
- Let us know about old flooring so we can uplift and dispose of it.
On the day
We’ll arrive at the agreed time, protect your home and get to work. We can move most everyday furniture. Please keep children and pets away from the work area while we’re fitting — there are tools, grippers and adhesives about.
Good to know
New floors can be thicker than old ones, so doors sometimes need trimming. We check this at the home visit so there are no surprises.
After fitting
- Carpet: a little shedding in the first few weeks is normal. Vacuum gently and often.
- Laminate and click LVT: ready to use straight away. Use felt pads under furniture legs.
- Glue-down LVT: avoid heavy furniture for 24 hours while the adhesive cures.
